Admission Eligibility
General Guidelines
Admission eligibility varies by program. Please refer to the specific program pages for detailed requirements. Below is a general outline of requirements for different levels of study:
Graduate Programs

| All Graduate Programs | – Undergraduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (on a scale of 4.00). |
| – Acceptable BUFT admission test score. | |
| M.Sc. in Textile Engineering | – Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. |
| M.Sc. in Fashion Design | – Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. |
| MBA in Apparel Merchandising | – Undergraduate degree in AMT/KE/FDT/TE from BUFT for a waiver of 27 credits. |
| – Undergraduate degree with a very good CGPA from other universities for special credit waiver. |
Final selection is based on the admission test score/viva and undergraduate degree results.
Undergraduate Programs

| English Medium Candidates | – Completion of ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level with at least 4 B’s or GPA of 4.00 and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 (on a scale where A=5.0, B=4.0, C=3.0, D=2.0, E=1.0). |
Final selection is based on the admission test score/viva and HSC/A-level and SSC results.
Direct Admission and Admission Test Criteria

Candidates eligible for direct admission must pass a viva. Weekly viva sessions will be arranged by the head of the department.
Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) Programs

Tuition Fees
Tuition fees vary based on the program you choose. It is essential to check with your school for the exact rate of tuition fees for your chosen course. The fees cover registration, tuition, supervision, examinations, and graduation costs. Payment of tuition fees also includes membership to the BUFT Library and Students’ Clubs.

Please Note:
- Tuition fees cover registration, tuition, supervision, examinations, and graduation. Membership of the BUFT Library and Students’ Clubs is included.

Scholarships and Tuition Waivers:
- In 2019, BUFT allocated BDT 10 crore for scholarships and tuition waivers. Over BDT 7 crore was distributed to meritorious students, children of freedom fighters, and underprivileged yet deserving students.
Payment of Tuition Fees:
- Fees are payable per semester in one installment. Payment methods and deadlines will be specified by the university. Late payments incur a charge.
- Fees should be paid through the designated bank as informed by the university. Proof of payment must be submitted to the Accounts section.
- Specific payment instructions will be provided by your advising faculty member.
Admission Procedure
To apply for admission, follow the steps outlined below:
1. Application Process
- Online Application: Click the button below to apply online.
- Physical Application: Alternatively, you can collect the admission form from the Admission Office of BUFT. Submit the completed form to the Admission Office.
2. Admission Test
- The Admission Office will notify you of the date and venue for the admission test if you are eligible.
- Keep an eye on the notice board for the admission test results.
3. Document Submission
If you qualify for admission, bring the following documents to the Admission Office for enrollment:

| Photocopy of NID/Birth Certificate | Photocopies of the NID/Birth certificates for the applicant, the applicant’s father and mother, and the tuition fee provider. |
| Recent Photographs | 4 passport-size and 2 stamp-size color photographs. |
